Echoes from the King’s Chamber
It really hit me when I was in the heart of the Great Pyramid, in the King’s Chamber at 1:30 in the morning with 33 other brave souls about to be led in a group meditation by Matias De Stefano.
It was hot, humid, and my claustrophobia was kicking in. Then the lights went out. Complete darkness. In that stillness I could feel it: the energy, the resonance of that sacred granite room. I focused on my breath and soon my anxiety flipped into excitement.
From Striving to Receiving: Learning to Say Yes to Life’s Invitations
For most of my life, I didn’t realize how much I was striving.
Not just for achievement, but for validation. To be helpful. To make an impact. To feel worthy.
That striving wore many masks: ambition, service, responsibility, hustle. But underneath it all was the subtle belief that I wasn’t enough as I was. That I needed to do more in order to be more.
Entering the Cave: My First Podcast Conversation
I’m both nervous and excited to share something new: my very first podcast.
When I started Purpose, Polarity & Paradox, I set the intention to explore the inner and outer landscapes of our lives—the patterns that shape us, the frameworks that help us make sense of chaos, and the lived experiences that invite us deeper into truth and purpose.
The Hero’s Plunge
The North Atlantic cold hit my skin as I sat with a group of men shoulder-deep in 5°C (41°F) water, laughing at how simultaneously crazy and amazing this experience was. Treeless peaks loomed around us, a frosty wind blowing, our bodies shivering, our hearts open. In that absurd, electric moment—raw, primal, alive—we built a rare connection through shared courage and discomfort.
Breaking the Cycle
We’re living in chaotic times when tragedy turns quickly into theater.
Something horrific happens—an act of violence, a natural disaster, a cultural rupture—and within hours the storyline sets in: who is the victim, who is the villain, and who will swoop in to save the day.
At first, it feels like clarity. But over time, it becomes a trap.
Staying Centered in a Polarized World
The headlines are loud, emotions are raw, and everywhere I look people seem more convinced than ever that they’re on the right side while others are dangerously wrong. Some even say we’re on the verge of another civil war.
I am not here to debate politics or take sides because that’s exactly what has us in this mess. Nor am I avoiding speaking my truth. What I want to share is a framework that has helped me make sense of what I see in the world, and also in myself.
Welcome to Purpose, Polarity & Paradox
My humble and curious exploration of the interplay between of our inner and outer worlds and connecting more to purpose and who we are so we can co-create a future that inspires
Three Years Later…Magic
Last week marked three years since we moved, sight unseen, to Portugal. I’ve been reflecting on what an incredible journey it has been, and how one courageous leap can ripple out into so many unexpected blessings.
Kenya’s People…High Vibes
It’s been over a week since returning from Kenya and I’m still unwrapping the gifts of that journey—moments that stirred my soul and reminded me of the human spirit’s unbreakable fire.
My time with the people I got to know there really put life in perspective around themes of abundance, community, freedom.
Safari of the Soul
We’re now in Kenya, and I’m still basking in the awe and life-affirming glow from our three unforgettable days on safari in Kenya’s Maasai Mara Conservancy.
Beyond the family adventure time together, this safari reminded me of my own wild journey of self-discovery these past six years, from feeling dissatisfied in my career to taking the leap to Portugal and living the life of my dreams.
