Entering the Cave: My First Podcast Conversation
I’m both nervous and excited to share something new: my very first podcast.
When I started Purpose, Polarity & Paradox, I set the intention to explore the inner and outer landscapes of our lives—the patterns that shape us, the frameworks that help us make sense of chaos, and the lived experiences that invite us deeper into truth and purpose.
This conversation is one of those invitations.
I recorded it a few weeks ago with my dear friend Christa, an author (Will and Mysteria: Two Inseparable Yogis), Vedic astrologer, and meditation teacher whose wisdom has inspired me since the days I practiced yoga in her Marin classes.
Together we explored:
- My health crisis in my 40s and how it cracked me open
- The surprising way fear became a guidepost instead of a barrier
- Why my family and I took the leap to Portugal
- What it means to live from purpose instead of performance
I’ll be honest—I hear the voice of my self-critic when I listen back. It’s not polished. My thoughts wander. I’m still finding my rhythm as a podcast guest. But part of the reason I’m sharing this is because that imperfection is real. And maybe that’s the point: clarity doesn’t come from waiting until we’re perfect, but from stepping into the cave we fear.
As Joseph Campbell said:
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”
That has certainly been true in my life. My health breakdown forced me to re-examine everything. The treasure it offered was purpose and the ongoing reminder that transformation rarely looks clean, but it is always worth it.
So here it is: my first podcast conversation:
I’d love for you to listen and let me know what resonates. This is just the beginning of what I hope will be many more conversations that open up new ways of seeing ourselves and the world we share.
